Speciality: A cuisine for Durga Puja/Sharodiya festival.
Ingredients for Coconut Barfi
Coconut - 250 gm, finely grated
Sugar - 250 gm
Water - 150 ml
Ghee or Butter - as needed for greasing plate
Cardamom powder - as needed to sprinkle (optional)
Method for Coconut Barfi
Prepare syrup with sugar and water to 2:1 consistency.
Warm coconut in heavy saucepan.
Add the syrup to the coconut.
Stir well and cook till soft lump forms.
Spread the coconut in a greased plate.
Keep aside and let it cool down.
Sprinkle cardamom powder on the coconut (optional).
Cut into square pieces and store in a clean airtight container.
