Ingredients for Narkel Chholar Dal
200 gm Chana dal or Chickpeas
1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
1 teaspoon Aniseed
1 Cinnamon, 1 inch stick
4 teaspoons thin small pieces of Coconut, freshly cut
1 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoons Sugar
Method for Narkel Chholar Dal
Boil the chickpeas with turmeric powder and water till tender.
Heat the oil and saute aniseed and cinnamon stick.
Add coconut and saute further for 5 minutes.
Add the boiled chickpeas and then cook for 10 minutes.
Mix in the salt and sugar.
Tips - Goes very well with Luchis.
